The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC with Linux

The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC HP announces the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC for under $500 targeted at the eductional market.

Designed for the education market, the HP 2133 Mini-Note PC is flexible enough for students to use from the classroom to the family room.

HP attacks with the 8.9 inch HP 2133 Asus and Everex with their low-cost Linux Notebooks.

The features of the HP Mini include 8.9 inch WXGA display, VIA C7-M CPU, 4GB SSD, 120GB HDD or 160GB storage options, up to 2GB RAM, anodized aluminum shell, HP DuraKeys, HP 3D DriveGuard, Scratch-resistant display and Wifi.

The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC starts at $499 with Linux and will also be available with more expensive Windows Vista configurations. HP is expected to ship the 2133 later this month. Some information about the HP 2133 already leaked back in February. Back then it was not clear that the 2133 will be an Asus Eee competitor. Later this month the Asus Eee PC 900 is also expected to ship.
