The Blackberry Bold is RIM’s most powerful smartphone to date
After endless rumours, RIM’s HSDPA smartphone has finally been unveiled. The Blackberry Bold 9000 smartphone will provide users with HSDPA broadband internet speeds for the first time while the device is also capable of connecting through Wi-Fi. The device continues RIM’s candybar design though the press shots suggest a slightly more curvaceous body.
The Blackberry Bold smartphone also comes with integrated GPS, making the most of the Blackberry Maps application, while the faster download speeds mean users can continue to navigate, even while they are taking a call. As well as the usual array of push email capabilities, using the preloaded DataViz Documents to Go suite, Word, Excel and PowerPoint files can be edited direct on the Blackberry bold.
RIM has also installed a two-megapixel camera complete with video, built-in flash and 5x digital zoom and a well equipped media player. Thanks to the Blackberry Media Sync applications, users will be able to sync their iTunes collection with the Blackberry Bold’s media player, while the device offers 1 GB of on-board storage as well as a microSD memory card slot.
The Blackberry Bold smartphone is expected to start shipping
